What is a good friend?

I was asked recently what I thought a good friend was and that made me think.In the end I didn't have an answer.

What are your thoughts.What do u think a good friend is?

A good friend is there for you in times of need.
A good friend gives constructive criticism and doesn't try to bring you down.
A good friend will get your back in an argument.
A good friend will take you to the hospital if needed.
A good friend will go food shopping for you if you're unable.
A good friend will gladly go to the movies with you when asked.
A good friend will dine with you at a nice restaurant.
A good friend will drive you to work if the bus isn't running.

a good friend will be discreet when you are wrong. a good friend will love you like a brother. a good friend will atone [AT-ONE] with you when you are feeling out of sorts.

a good friend is someone you can count on and who counts on you, someone whose company you enjoy and vice versa.

A good friend is someone you connect with and allows you the freedom to be comfortable with yourself.

A friend will give you the name of a bondsman
A good friend will come bail you out of jail themselves
A best friend will help you hide the body

Actually I think a good friend will stick by you through the ups and downs and won't judge you and will have confidence that you will be there the same way for them.

A good friend is someone who accepts you for your self, sticks with you even when the s*** hits the fan, someone who doesn't talk behind your back, and someone who doesn't turn their back on you for being different.

to me, ther is no such thng as a good freind - you are eithre my friend and you meet all my expctations of anyone I give that title to, or yuor just an acquaintance, in which caes I dont especially care if yuo live or die or anything. A friend to me is liek family - they are loyal to me, they dont intentionnaly hurt me, they understand honour, they wuold never turn on me no matter what I did, and they wuold always haev my back against strangres.

i often think a good friend is someone who, when you notice or see them, your mood is instantly lifted and a true friend is someone who treats you the same no matter how bad things turn for the worst in your life. unfortunately i don't think i'm either, but i certainly had what i would deem a good friend in high school, and i lost a true friend about a year ago, when he passed away.

A friend will try to talk you out of murdering someone.

A good friend will help you hide the body.

Whoever remains your friend. But at the same time does not cause too much "drama" in your life, cause you problems, cost you lots of money, get you in trouble, etc. That's about all.

A good friend will allow you to make decisions that are in your best interests and even guide you in that direction if needed.
