I have been told I don't walk "normal". I don't know what that means, or how to walk "normal". my parents are who told me and they don't usually make insulting comments like that.. at least my mom doesn't..... I don't know how to respond. I like to go on walks... but if I look weird when I walk....

Oh yes, the infamous autistic walk. Apparently we walk in an unusual way. I for one look at the ground most of the time as I walk, I don't usually swing my arms and when I do I mostly just swing one of them, and I often stim as I walk too. That sort of stuff is quite common among autistic people, and that is probably what they are talking about.

yeah, i was REALLY self concious about the way i walk until one time a guy said "well that guys got a bit of a limp" and after that i was cool with the fact that thats how i walk. im similar to mikeman7918 though, i look at the ground most of the time, usually don't swing my arms at all, oh that and stimming, although nobodies every really commented on anything but the limp thing.

but yeah its pretty much normal for those on the spectrum.

makes you think how my parents, while looking for autism, missed all of this when i was young because i did this sort of thing all the time, hell my parents always told me to look up and be confident or people will take advantage and think your vulnerable, but then they also told me not to look at people for long so i ended up just looking down again. but then again my parents are the most oblivious and unobservant people ive ever met.

I used to walk like that, though haven't done it often since I was about 13 years old. Which coincidentally is when I started adopting a style of walking that made me look angry whether i was or not (helped get the idiots in school to leave me be) but regardless I never really notice anyone doing that anymore because 9/10 times everyone is on their phone anyway.

I was also said all the time that I'm walking weirdly.
