This one girl said to me recently "everybody overlooks you"


So what does that say about me then as an individual?

Probably means she can see you've got something useful to contribute, but other people don't. Are you a quiet person?

Ah ha! That explains what she meant. Maybe she's encouraging you to be more outgoing and you'll be given more responsibility, opportunities to contribute, get more invites to join in etc.

If one is overlooked that implies that other people are passing over something of value, if she used the word "ignored" then that would imply one is boring and not worth investigating further. Overlooked is a better word that ignored. Like if you've lost your phone and overlook the place where it is, you are missing a thing of value because it wasn't openly apparent. If you ignore your phone it means you don't really want it.
