A colleague at work leant on my shoulder when we were standing next to each other, we're both men, is this intended to convey dominance or solidarity? he's about a foot taller than me. seems friendly but we don't really talk.

what part of him was touching you? Hand can be solidarity, shoulder to shoulder can be romantic intent or unintentional i.e. crammed into an elevator. forearm can mean dominance, but if his arm was wrapped around you he was creeping. others should comment/clarify.

Was he leaning over you to observe something?

shoulder to shoulder I think though his is above mine, he mumbled something then said I'll tell you later. haven't seen him since.
