So time to display the mouldering skeletons we have stashed away in our closets. My worst social disaster was probably the time that I... so many to choose from. Could be the time when I totally spaced in a nightclub and was literally stood rooted to the spot oblivious to the fact that I was being taken the piss out of by a group of people gathered in a semicircle around me (one guy actually belched in my face which turned out to be the sweetest event of the evening).

Oh or it could be the period where my meltdowns/breakdowns were broadcast to my entire street before I realised that my room was like a giant high end speaker emitting everything I did in crystal clear surround sound. Keep in mind that I lived opposite a childhood friend who was at the heart of the local community - so everyone I know virtually became aware that I was/am a total and utter "nutcase" lool

When I was a little kid, before I spoke to people, I sold corn on the street. I just pointed to my sign with the price on it when people stopped. Most people didn't seem to be too bothered about it, or thought it was "cute". But eventually a black man stopped. When I didn't speak to him, he asked if I was a "little racist". I thought he was joking, so I just smiled. He was not joking. He grabbed his corn, stormed back to his truck, and drove straight through my sign. He did pay for the corn though.

I sincerely hope all my worst social disasters have at least happened during parties... most recently at a friend's mountain house, some drunk fool drove off the driveway, sideways, in a small Hyundai. It high-centered on some rocks & logs, 20 some people tried pushing it, then started yelling to the entire homeowner's association for me (apparently the ONLY gearhead) until I walked out front, stole the key so it didn't oil starve and paced off the front yard, only to conclude that 45 degree departure angles and ditches don't work for aging Korean economy cars. 90% of the party jumped in their cars and scrambled out of the driveway at this point, at the insistence of some jerk who was stupid enough to park at the front with the intention of leaving early.

All my other social disasters blend together a bit quite honestly. For quite some time I couldn't make sense of which ones were connected (otherwise known as High School).
