Verbal Repetition, anyone know how to stop?

When in conversation with people sometimes I can repeat things like I'm going in a circle. Does anyone else have this problem? Sometimes I feel like its so hard NOT to do this, and I have to have someone remind me that I am doing this in conversation so that i can move on to something else. This frustrates people a lot....

Do any of you have this problem? Why does this happen? Any ideas on how to stop it?

sounds familiar. I think this probably indicates that you're just talking too much and have run out of things to say. I believe that you should try to talk less and listen more. If that doesn't work, at least we ruled that possibility out.

I was doing that earlier on when I was trying to speak to people in my rehursal. I tend to do it when I'm nervous or intimidated, so I guess you just have to try and relax... Easier said then done, I know!
