Hi,

I was wondering how many of you in here have friends that are on the Autism spectrum who seem to break through a major barrier or another while others seem to struggle.

Meanwhile, friend who seems to have what others don't tend to show off.

Does anyone share this experience?

See the "Love and Dating" section of the forum. I've experienced serious dating droughts, although unless I'm in a social group I struggle to get a girl's number, or be comfortable to even ask.

This isn't just about love and dating. I am talking about people on the spectrum who break through a major barrier and get things and then start acting like they are too good for those on the spectrum who have not yet reached that barrier.

For me I have seen

1. A close friend got married a little over three years ago and although I am happy for them, my is suddenly acting as if they are more important by having an attitude and walking around in these fancy little outfits.

2. A girl on the spectrum was able to pull things off enough and get in the military while putting me down as if I was too low functioning.

3. A few people on the spectrum have had an easy time making friends with NTs and just brush off their friends on the spectrum

4. One of those two people who makes friends with NTs recently got a career. They just seemed to have ditched most of us by making and breaking promises to us.

Maybe they're ditching former friends. Could be they are just trying to survive in a world that frowns on them being themselves and they're shutting down some, maybe have trouble being different and meeting all the demands.
