I am aware that I often make people uncomfortable and so sometimes I will come by a group that I have sat and chatted with many times and there will be suddenly an uncomfortable silence and an awkward vibe.

It always throws me when this happens because inevitably, I have no idea of what it is I have done. Also, sometimes it is purely coincidence and nothing to do with me.

The weirdest thing is that this can also happen online.

Why is being human so complicated??

Sadly, it isn't this complicated for most humans. That's why they call autism a "disorder" - it turns your life into a ceaseless stream of unmanageable, indecipherable chaos.

Sometimes I know what I did was fine. Sometimes I think it is me when it is not. It is very confusing, especially since it is fairly common for people to lie about who they are and what they think, so you may respond to the lie only to be baffled by a response that comes from their truth rather than from their lies.

Humans are baffling. Aspies are so much easier to understand. I so prefer direct honesty even when it is taciturn and even rude. I can work with that.

I think it is complicated for everyone. I watch people, all my life I am observing and making mental notes and comparing and looking for patterns. Nobody really knows what's going on imho.

@auntblabby Aww, man, that must have been awful, sorry you went through that, amy can be a brutal place for someone not wired to fit in.

Isn't that exhausting?

not at all; it sort of just happens, I don't have to even make any effort.

That happens with me off and on. I had a situation like that last week when I went to a convention and ran into several of them at the con. I know the feeling.

Then what about you seem to talk to someone and you think they are enjoying themselves and then they make an excuse "Well if you will excuse me. I am going to grab something to drink." Then they move to another part of the room.

but at least it toughened me and made me more determined to find a place of peace away from people.
