My friends have always called me squirrel. Can't even remember why any more, I've been squirrel since I was about 8, I suppose. Why do you think people do that? What's your nickname if you do have one? Was it something derogatory or irritating?

I sort of wish I did. If I were able to pick one, it'd be Riceball, after the Japanese snack.

sly. for being sneaky in a video game back in middleschool. It expanded to other friends then I used it on my airsoft team. I use it on xbox and PlayStation. I also love Foxes so I also use slyfox too.

Rain Man. I am trying to lose that one. I have had others. Most not so complimentary.

I've never had a nickname, unless you count "mom." Or "babe" (what my husband often calls me).

I've had many nicknames, all of which are tied to my real names and/or similar to them in some way, shape, or form.

I don't really have a nickname, but I did respond to "MRSA" at Walmart once.

Microbiology is a big interest of mine, including, you guessed it: MRSA! I'm also into Ebola and related filoviridae. With all the Marburgs I'm getting ready to sew up (yeah, I make plush ones to go with the Ebola GIANTmicrobes! :D ) I'm surprised no one calls me the "Marburger!"

My dear late brother christened me with the nickname "Professor"..and it lives on, like his spirit. He called me that since I always appeared to be studious, with the glasses and hair style etc. I did consider myself a conscientious student, even though it didn't always translate into high grades. There was the other aspect of how I mostly despised going to school..with the social issues, lack of friends, awkwardness..of course this comes down to the AS.
I've also been called "Skylab"...due to mostly my strong affinity for the atmosphere, clouds, weather etc. And the "Lab" part is probably from that old spacecraft that once orbited the Earth in the 70's. I do have an interest in astronomy too, but is secondary to meteorology.

My name's Nicholas so Nick is my nickname which is used alot & doesn't bother me. I kinda think it would be funny to have a nickname like someone would get at a frat house like Bugger, Barf or Stainer

Funny enough, my first nickname was also Squirrel, at least for a bit when I was in the Woodcraft Folk, the reason being I was so good at climbing tress, with my skinny body and strong long limbs, I could almost run up them.

Many nicknames over the years including Donkey Dork,
Nambo was a nickname as well.

Most of the time I was called by my first name, but recently when I got new social circles I "had to" adopt a nickname because there were already couple of my namesakes in those circles. "Sale" is an abbreviation from my last name and I kinda like it :) I had previously some other more rarely used pet names given by my class mates such as "walking Google", but after upgrading my post-high school-circles they feel really distant now.

I've had quite a few nicknames. Some of them were based on my real names, others were not. And on some sites I have had nicks based on my username there.

LOL...come to think of it, I should have answered "yes."

My nickname at work is "Wolfman." When I was in high school, it was "mumbles." As a 9-year-old child, it was Krafty K******* (last name omitted). I've had some less-flattering nicknames as well.

I was also known as "Spike" for a while at work because I had a slightly spiky hairstyle, plus in reference to the movie "Spike of Bensonhurst."
