I don't know why I even bother going to parties. I guess I just go because I'm eager to have something to do, but I always end up leaving feeling anxious, depressed, and lonely. It's like, I'm just never able to blend in and draw attention to myself at parties. At least in other environments I can have some success in those departments.

It's times like this I wish I was still in high school, where people would consider things like going to the mall, to the movies, bowling, or just sitting home playing board games together to be fun.

I'll say.

Parties are overrated. Nice once in a while but I usually have to be drunk to enjoy them.

Well, that makes sense, considering that for most people, the whole point of these parties is to get drunk. Usually I have a few drinks at parties but I probably never get drunk "enough".

I have never seen the point of getting together with a bunch of other people just to get drunk. For the most part I find drunk people to be obnoxious and boring (especially when all they talk about is how drunk they are). I'll take a Friday night in my living room playing video games rather than a lame party, thanks.

I do very occasionally attend what are called "parties" with other like-minded geekish folks, but at those sorts of parties there is generally playing of board games and Nintendo. =]

Parties... Ick. Last one I was at I got bored of trying to talk to people so I went into the empty sitting room and tried to play piano for a couple of hours.

I had a party of my own a couple of weeks ago, possible the worst thing I've ever done. I ended up so nervous and overloaded I spent most of the night hiding in the kitchen organising the empty bottles.

I just got home from a work party. I got so bored sitting in the corner and staring at the wall, so after about an hour I decided to get up and leave. I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing, everyone is standinmg around talking and I have no idea what to talk about. I'm also a Christian so I don't drink, which makes me feel out of place as well.

I also wish people would still go to the cinema, etc :(

tee hee hee....

The only way I can stand being around party levels of people and noise is to be drunk. Back in college, I stopped going to large parties because I'd get so smashed people thought I was going to pull a Jimi Hendrix. Now I don't give a rat's behind about socializing with large groups of people.

I never get invited to parties, but I doubt I'd have fun at one anyway.

I don't get invited for parties, and I'm glad for that. Parties are often boring or just too overstimulating for me. People get drunk and when they're drunk, they're loud and unpredictable and I just don't see the fun in that. I like parties where you just go see a film or go bowling, but unfortunately people of my age seem to enjoy dancing and getting smashed more.

I hate social gatherings because I hate being around a lot of people for more than the absolute minimum amount of time. It would be interesting having a party of like-minded geeks, except that all the geeks I know are actually good at Nintendo. You people should have seen me try and play MarioKart last time I played.... it was a disaster! 8O

Not a great fan of parties, but I do go to some occassionally if they're held by friends, and my boyfriend enjoys them.

I usually end up sitting down by myself. I could go round and socialise, it's not as if I'm completely incapable! but it's hard work and tires me after a while. I usually leave fairly early.

I usually try to go around and socialize, and after a number unsuccessful attempts, I just give up and become a wallflower.
