If someone had a personality of reserved but 'explosive'

Why might someone with that type of personality be unpleasent to be around?

IT's hard for others when someone is explosive because it makes them feel on edge, waiting for the next explosion. When a person is very reserved, then others can feel like it is because that person is mad at them or something.
