suggestions for social groups

Since I have graduated from college and have returned home to serve my sentence (read: live at home with my parents), they suggested that I join up with a social group so they can not be regaled with my presence in my room during the evenings. Any suggestions for potential social groups?

How about an evening job or volunteer position someplace? (My oldest walked humane society dogs after hours so they could get some exercise. He had to quit as he kept wanting to bring animals home.)

Tomorrow (as of this post), I will be going to my local Target store for an interview, in which I would have to work nights some of the time. What I'm concerned about is when I have to work during the day.

Jeez guys, don't be so quick to condemn his parents.
Its what any parent wants for their kid: the best life possible. They want him to get the social interaction he wants but finds it hard to get. Is that so bad?

Simple, really. They don't want me hanging around the house most evenings.

My brother-in-law worked at Target for five years. He said they were VERY flexible about hours and such.

Are you looking for a day job then too or do you have one lined up?

I had my interview today and I should find out sometime soon whether or not I've been hired.

Hope you get the job. A job will get you out and pass time.

I certainly hope so. I just checked meetup.com and most if not all the groups in my neck of the woods aren't active for lack of "organizers," which sucks a-double-$ if you ask me.

My dad also suggested, amongst all things, church groups. Yeah, like me hanging out with people three or four times my age is gonna work out. The Chicago Cubs will win the World Series (or, if you live in England: Leeds United will be promoted to the Premiership) before THAT ever happens.
