i don't get it, in the youtube comment section whenever i share an opinion, someone tells me im wrong....when i can't be wrong, its my opinion. and when i say that im offended by something, someone tells me to stop being and grow a spine or something, like this one. A youtuber was making offensive jokes, basically homophobic and even jokes about autism that were perticularly offensive (at least to me anyway). i stated this, in an attempt to get him to stop, and some random guy (who isn't the youtuber, just some random stranger) says this as a retort even though im not talking to him (im going to say his username as well)

ego: Shut up autistic fa***t you're way too sensitive.

why do people do this? whats wrong? am i missing something? or is this normal?

Yep, that's pretty normal. You didn't do anything wrong, that person is just an a**hole and probably a troll.

This reminds me of a meme:

Yeah, I don't see the point. Just because you express your opinion doesn't mean you want to start an argument; you're just stating what you think.

When people do that to me, I just inform them that I was simply giving my opinion and didn't mean to start a debate. Then I leave.

YouTube seems particularly prone to this, so I doubt it's you. People seem to be generally brainless and hostile in their comments for some reason. I can see the value in discussion and debate, but not in argument.

For most people watching youtube, seeing a gay autistic person is like a dog seeing a fox. They can't resist going after that person with abandon.

People act waaaay worse in comments than they ever would in real life, or anywhere else. Do you have to have comments enabled? Because this behavior probably won't stop. Not from that kind of person.

yeah, the comment i mentioned, i had to remove that, i got way too many people diving in attacking me, i even had one or two of them go into my channel (user account) find a video ive uploaded recently, then put it on there too......wow they are dedicated, it stopped being offensive now, now its just impressive, to be honest im sort of sad that i deleted the comment, because it would have been interesting to see how far it would have went.

i seem to get this kind of attention everywhere i go, in real life and online, why do people argue with and attack opinions, maybe i just have weird views on things, like i said i didn't like CSGO (which is a really popular shooting game) to a guy, not on the internet, in person, when he asked me whether i liked it or not, he spent the entire day arguing that i was wrong.....how the hell is an opinion wrong?.

I argue with opinions sometimes -- like the opinion that being gay is a choice, or the opinion autistic people are subhuman and worthless. If someone stated those opinions I might tell them they were wrong, too.....not in the sense that it's "wrong" to have those opinions (people are free to think whatever they want) but in the sense that those opinions don't reflect reality.

But I wouldn't tell someone their personal preference about something like a game was "wrong".....when people argue about stuff like that I think maybe it's because they're upset/disappointed that you don't share the same experience of something and think they can somehow change your experience of it.

Or maybe it has something to do with how people insult each other for being different (like when you're growing up and some other kid doesn't enjoy some toy or activity and decides it's "stupid" -- and then if you like that toy or activity, they decide you're "stupid", too, by association) .... maybe they automatically think that if you negatively judge the stuff they like, that you must be also negatively judging them as a person or that you will like them less for being different than you?

oh i sort of meant in the way that they tell you that you don't think that or your wrong, like for example "im offended" and they go "no your not", its like, its my right to be offended you know? "i don't like this game" "yes you do" its my right to not like it, yet apparently people don't get either of these concepts. while something like "autistic people should be aborted before being born" can be argued with as thats an incredibly offensive view point, not saying that they don't think that, but why i think that concept is wrong, rather then telling them that they don't think that/can't have an opinion, wow this is confusing now, even im a little lost on what im trying to say here haha

Years ago, I came to the realization that there are paid government and corporate trolls as well as useful-idiot tools who actually volunteer for duty. They are the skeezy side of the Internet; they are mercenaries. They exist. You cannot reason with them, they will not see the error of their ways, and they don't want to; in many cases, they are PAID to be jerks. Try to avoid them. Apart from the few comments I make on WrongPlanet.net, I avoid all social media for precisely this reason. The best way to avoid their attacks is to ignore them, or, at least, don't share your opinions online. After all, almost no one cares about anyone's shared opinions, and many attack you for it.

I'm sorry for confusing things.

I get what you meant now....and that's just super weird. Seems like some kind of mind game or something because it doesn't make any sense.

i realise i didn't actually make that clear in my OP, so its logical that someone would interpret it that way.

my theory is that while we weren't looking, the internet turned into a hive mind, now all must be absorbed into the collective, so opinions, likes and dislikes that don't agree with the collective must be terminated and then absorb the giver of those into the collective by demeaning and attacking that person so much that they literally can no longer think for themselves, and thus they are part of the hive mind.

gotta give them credit though, they searched through my channel, clicked my one video and multiple people commented on it "you autistic ret*d, stop being such a sensitive fa***t" and other ones to that similar nature, people have WAY too much time on their hands, so i had to delete my one video, RIP.

Well, if it was just one or two people pretending to be a lot of people, I might give them credit for the work involved in making it look like lots of people were showering you with hatred.....otherwise it doesn't seem like much of an accomplishment.

I don't understand how people can be so hateful. It's both frightening and depressing.
