I've had a sort of an epiphany, and I want to start getting out more and socialising and making friends. I want to learn practical social skills, but since being an Aspie means I do not pick them up instinctively like NTs do, I wanna know where I can get the theoretical aspects of socialising from. I already know that reading body language books could help, but I wanna go beyond that. I barely register any social cues at this point of time, and I never know what to say or do. Due to me not having any good social skills, I have some sort of a language delay. I respond to people with a delay of like 10-15 seconds, and when it comes to something emotional, I do not immediately understand what I must say, and thus when I say it, it sounds forced.

Another problem is that I behave like an unsocialised puppy when I am around new people. I get super tensed when the people around me are unfamiliar, and I just cannot go up to someone and talk, even if I am being introduced by a mutual acquaintance.

Well, so what should I do? I wanna learn a new social skill every day basically, where can I do this from?
