...and personally dislike it:

Do you sometimes feel like lying about your actual age to people?

Do people actually react positively when they find out you're way older than you look to them?

Do some people consider it to be a turn-on in a certain way?

Does the problem really get better with time in your situation?

Its a mixed thing.. blessing and curse I'd say.

I'm 36...

Unless I have a beard they card me everywhere. Everywhere. - curse. Its why I have a light beard nowadays.
I've had underage girls (~15-17) hit on me. - Curse & frightening given that many do look ~20-25 .. its scary not to know if to try and flirt back or not. :(
I've had ~20 to 25 year olds flirt with me a lot ....but when they learn i'm 36 they back out after a minute of 'nah you're kidding me' till I show them my ID - blessing and curse.
No woman my age ~30-38 talks to me. I look much younger so..well, its natural I'd think. - Curse.
My mother also looks a lot younger so when I help her with her groceries I've had people ask me if I know what I'll study in college. - Curse. Its so irritating... but it makes my mother's day haha.

People seem to think I'm 18, when actually I'm 24. Before my 24th birthday, when I told people at work that it was my birthday coming up, I got two different people asking ''how old will you be, 19?'' and I had to say ''um....no, I'll be 24...''

I do hate looking young for my age. I don't even know how a person in their 20's is supposed to look compared to an 18-year-old. Maybe because I'm small-featured, it makes people think I'm a lot younger, I don't know.

When I get upset about looking so young, some people tell me that looking young for your age is a GOOD thing. Yes, it's a good thing when you're a middleager, but when you're in your 20's you want to look like you're in your 20's, otherwise you feel patronised.

I feel for the most part neutral about the fact that I look like I'm 16 as 20, but I'll go ahead and answer.

Do you sometimes feel like lying about your actual age to people?
No, not that I can think of.

Do people actually react positively when they find out you're way older than you look to them?
I don't think positively is the right word, but I also don't think it's necessarily negative. They poke fun about it usually, which I do not enjoy, but it's not meant to be mean.

Do some people consider it to be a turn-on in a certain way?
Idk and somebody being turned on by the fact that I look younger would definitely turn me way off.

Does the problem really get better with time in your situation?
Not sure. I think I tend to look younger (besides my youthful face) because I dress a bit younger. For example, I have polka dot converse that I wear all the time.

I am 41 and look like I'm in my twenties. I mostly like looking younger, people think I am younger than my husband although I am five years older than him. No one can believe I have grown children. Sometimes I don't like being treated like a teenager though. I wonder why it is that aspies often look younger than their years anyhow?

Some people on here once said it was because of hormone imbalances after they've done some extensive research on it (there was a huge thread in "general autism discussion" about this issue a long while ago) and sadly enough I have to agree with them.

I went through puberty at the average stages though. I was very average actually. I started growing breasts at about 11, started my periods at 13, and was always average-sized for my age all through childhood. Also I developed averagely as a baby too.

LOL...I wish I looked much younger than my age.

I used to, actually.

Now, since I've gotten gray hair, I look no younger than 5 years below my chronological age of 53.

I would bask in the glory of looking younger!

/\ /\ To all those who find it a curse, just stop and think about those of us who have it the other way round.
I'm 57, but look 10 years older. Its a curse when interviewing for a job.
Blokes much older than me think I'm their age.
I do manage to joke that its like cars, 'not the years, its the miles, and I've got a lot of mileage on me.'

I looked a lot older than I was when I was a kid because I developed very early.

Ever since my twenties, I started looking younger than my age. I couldn't say how much younger, but younger.

If one has bad hormonal balance as a youth, they will tend to look young because they haven't developed, and as elders the hormones keep you healthy/young looking, so it'd be the other way around, right?

I always looked much younger than I was until my late 50s. Then I looked/look about my age. I was wondering if burnout (extreme stress of poor social skills and executive function) puts an end to looking a lot younger than your age.

Personally I don't really dislike looking younger than I am per se, but I fear not being believed in an important situation, like going abroad and someone thinking my passport is fake. As it is, at this point I wouldn't wanna go abroad alone.
I'm not sorry that I don't look older though. It fits how I feel.

Yeah, I do, and I do dodge it whenever I can. Not just because I'm younger looking but because I have accomplished so little.

No, not really. The only situation where I sort of had to say it was to someone who was 10 years younger than me and thought I was her age. She was surprised and seemed to think it weird. In all other situations I have avoided correcting the mistake.
I think most would agree with that person and think it weird.

I can't imagine so, no.

It hasn't so far (37). But I am starting to get some grey hairs so maybe it will... I can't say I'm looking forward to it...

I'm 25 but look younger. A lot of people don't even believe I'm over 21.
It does annoy me sometimes, how a lot of people act so shocked when they find out my age. Especially when they say "Really?", as if I don't know how old I am.

I don't know if it'll get any better over time for me. When I was 18, people thought I was 15/16.
So apparently I age slower as I get older.

It's funny to me that I don't look older though, considering how much stress I've been through and my poor eating/sleeping habits.

I try not to tell people my age. I can't be doing with the fuss.
