Hi my name is Jakob and have been diagnosed with autism for about 10 year or so and one of the major difficulties I have is with public social interactions and situations such as the bus and the process of buying anything from an actual person due to me being incredibly nervous about the situation at hand or just not knowing how to proceed. Over the years I have improved upon these skills but I thought that it would have been very helpful for me if I had some sort of a guide to help me figure out how to deal with these situations.

Now on to the point of this post I have decided to create some instructional PSA (Public Service Announcement) like video’s to help people like me who struggle with social interaction and situations for one reason or another for my college courses final project. I would like to ask you all what you think of my idea, would it be useful to you or would it not and why do you feel that way. I would also like to hear about possible public social interaction and situations that you feel that you struggle with and think might make a good subject matter for one of the videos.

Hopefully when I get done I will be able to post a link to the finished product here so I can get your opinions on that as well.

Thanks

I find that for me I get into interacting with someone in a conversation and I get to a point where I just don't know what to say next and it just gets uncomfortable. Also a lot of times I just don't know what to do. I struggle.

I think such a video would be quite useful for people with social interaction problems.

Despite your difficulties, it seems as if you're doing the job in life. In light of that, I believe you would be a great example for other people with ASD.

Have you not finished it yet? Unfortunately, some other guides which attempted to explain how neurotypicals work (as most people) were incomplete.
