They changed the layout and now it's got a row of people I don't know at the top and they're all staring at me. These faces I've never seen, don't want to look at AT ALL.

It making me so anxious I have to hide my face from it until I can scroll past it. But I know they're there- just waiting to catch me offguard.

I can't get on FB now because of it- it's really disrupting my day- how can I stop it? I don't want to be more isolated!

I know this sounds like a stupid thing- but it's just so scary. It's like a nightmare. Can I stop it, change it?

Are these the "People You May Know?" If so, I'm not sure there is a way to get rid of them. At least I couldn't find a way.

Can't you just de-friend them?

If that doesn't work, set up a new profile in facebook.

It's not people I know- I think it's people Facebook wants me to know. But I don't know them.

Facebook is terrifying full stop.
So I haven't got it.
One less worry to deal with.

i absolutely hate that feature. back when i used it and actually cared i would be upset when i saw who had unfriended me. i was devastated when i saw the face my my limerent object in there once.
the ads are awful as well, with sound that i couldn't turn off.

then i left for good, how liberating!

I wish I could leave- but it's the only way I keep intouch with almost all of my family. I love and miss them. Also, it's how I see my nephews and nieces grow up since I can't be there.

I stink at email. I wish there was a go-between service for Facebook. A filter or program that would make it more autistic-friendly.

I left for a year before and I missed so much. Took six months for the NT's to accept me again. I don't understand needing to be in constant contact to prove your love to people, but boy is it popular in the NT crowd.

I think I may have figured out how you can avoid seeing those faces staring at you, all the time When I go to Facebook, I notice that those profiles are never present -- and I think it has to do with how I bookmarked the site -- I just see Facebook.com in the browser. I'm on the home page, but I still see all my friends updates. It's only when I click on my name at the top and go to my timeline of the page that I'm seeing "People You May Know."

So...just bookmark the Facebook home page, log in, and you can avoid all those bloody images coming at you. Try that and let me know if that works for you.

There's an extension for google chrome that allows you to hide any part of a webpage so it's hidden every time you visit it. I've not tried it but here's the link:

http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/page-erase ... ge-chrome/

Update- facebook puts them back whenever the page reloads. They are so mean. :(

I use AdBlock for Chrome, with every filter list checked, and one custom filter item: "http://www.squirrelconspiracy.net/abp/facebook-privacy-list.txt". Those settings block the "people you may know" feature (and probably some others) as well as disabling Facebook stuff on every other website (which means Facebook can't track you across the web when you're logged in).
Of course, it also makes some sites practically unusable, but I don't mind since those generally are ones that require you to log-in with a Facebook account, and I never do that anymore.

There's also an extension called AdBlock which I use and it blocks tons of ads including video ads in youtube.
