I'm going to try to take a long time

I have experienced and heard that whatever studying need a long time.
Before one year ago, I have tried to learn english only by chance, infrequently.
While I learn english incessantly on books and internet, almost everyday, i feel i have done enough and few hours or few days later i can be better in English.
But it was wrong.

I thought making a friend is same.

I think we have an inclination to understand our fail is belonging to our disability on our studying or unsophisticated hobby or less variation of hobby.
Or possibly or probably to our personality.
I have had thought always when I found good studying and good hobbies I can get a friend immediately.
But after I have sent several pm on this site, I start to think my thought was fantasy.

When I learn mathematics, I read a book with shallow concentration from the experience of learning english.
With too much concentration, I can't learn math frequently, I can't take a long time.
And I do only turning pages or picking up only few sentences on a page (or every pgdn key).
And I have heard a person who played chess 4000 times.
I'm not good at chess with only several 10 times.

Like studying, I think we must find a way we can take a long time.
To make a friend.
How do you think?
