Well there is a difference here you need to clarify. People's lives go on and develop, their personal needs and schedules change and people lose touch. Ask anyone who is single and his/her best friend just got married. The relationship changes based on the situations both of you go through in life. People will come and go, all with different levels of meaningfulness in your life. That's just how life is.
However, there are also people that are just self-centered and ditch you as a friend. You have to consider the difference.
