So my 7 year old brother and I (I'm 15) like to play Super Smash Bros for Wii U together. The problem is is that whenever I start to get on a winning streak he gets upset and wants me to go easy on him. I would but the thing is is that he is a very capable Smash Bros player, going against 3 level 9 CPU's. I tend to go against level 4 or 5's. Also for about the first 3 months since we got the game, he just absolutely wiped the floor with me. So when I start to beat him, do I let him win or not?

Don't. These brats need to learn that everything isn't easy in life.

It depends on the goal of your playing together.

If you play to get better and for competition, then smash him! But also give him pointers and advice to get ahead of you. Since playing with people is really different from playing CPUs.

If it is just a pastime, for relaxation or the social interaction, then take it a bit more easy. Give him some slack, but do not be afraid to win.

Maybe try playing cooperatively with him, going against high level CPUs. This is the solution I often used to turn to whenever I played multiplayer games with my friends, one of whom really didn't like being beaten by me at certain games.

Thanks for the pointers, we just got an amiibo and I hear that they can get ridiculously strong so we're going to mess with that a while.

I also have a younger brother. What I've always done is go easier, but don't LET them win.

It's understandable because you are older and have been a gamer for longer.

Just be very patient with younger siblings.

For example in a fighting game, instead of annihilating them, just be patient.

For example when I play wrestling videogames with my little brother (like WWE), I will either block or counter attack. I mostly remain on the defense and let him be offense, but still make sure I am fighting back.
