I'm pretty much really excited but I'm also REALLY nervous. Like, I just think he's going to hate me. Aghh.. it's driving me insane!! Social Anxiety + AS sucks so much. He's pretty much aware of what I just said but I still feel really, really, nervous. It sucks. Sometimes I think I'm just f*****g crazy for actually going out of my way to make things like this happen. I dunno, I just needed to rant. I'm just feeling really inferior because he's like SOOO much more social than I am, and I dunno if it's still going to work out after I meet up with him. Agh! Jeez....

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Be careful, you don't want to end up like that girl who got murdered by people she met online. She must have met them somewhere or something, and they killed her. So if they have a knife in their hand, run away.

A suggestion: Get a pen and some paper and write about all your concerns, every possible worse case senario that you've thought up, every imagined blunder, every concern, write write write, anything that comes into your head, fill a couple of pages quickly. It'll stop those niggling thoughts from spinning around in your head so you can relax. (I do it when i've had a bad day and I have niggling thoughts. Its a great release.)

Best of luck with your rendezvous :D

I am 25 and nervous as anything when a coworker asked me to hang out. He's in his 30s. I want to, I want to very badly! We have hung out once, and it was kind of surreal but I did enjoy it. He wants me to come over his place with my gf and have dinner with his wife and do some gaming. I have put it off for WEEKS because the idea of going to someones house like that just makes my chest tighten. Hoped I would be done with this crap when I left my teens, but so much for that wish!

yeah, you probably know all this, but please make sure that you let someone a friend know when and where you plan to meet this person. plan to meet them in a public place where there are other people around you (and keep it that way until you know them better).

have fun!

I'd never try to meet someone in real life whom I'd met online. I hope you know what you're doing. :? But good luck, anyways.

Heh just go for it! You don't want to live with regrets and what ifs for the rest of your life. It's such a great opportunity, ya know. I'm pretty much in the same boat but I'm actually gonna go through with it even though my anxiety has gone up super high even though I'm not meeting my friend until about 4 days.

Heh, I'm a complex situation? I guess I'll take that as a compliment.
