So in a moment of anger i typed this note on facebook, is it stupid, incorrect, mean, over-critical, crazy what
is wrong with it?

"So Folks, just finished going through my Facebook history. And feel pretty good that I only allowed so much on Facebook. The last couple months have been a experiment and experience. I have purposely consciously acted on impulse, close akin to some of the public and common, perhaps neurotic, extroverts on Facebook. I consciously decided to post every thought in my mind, logical or illogical, appropriate or inappropriate. And like most of the social shutter bugs I see, trying to make every meaningless moment of oneself as a cause for celebration of their own ego. I started taking "Selfies" and posted some online. But only a few, I don't consider photos on Facebook for the sake of identification, or for sharing and remembering good moments as narcissistic. But to take so many, for the sake of attention, as some strange desire for acknowledgement by a machine rather than a person's own eyes, is an excess. It inevitably evolved into what is now SnapChat.

Now the experiment has run its course, and the experience is now banal and pointless. The broadcast is over, done... FIN.

I only wanted to "participate" to see if I could feel and enjoy a sense of satisfaction from proud announcements of my existence, like the ones I see on other pages and other profiles. I did but only briefly and in small meager amounts. Facebook is meaningless as a way to broadcast one's thoughts or photos or as tool of first resort to socialize with others on a individual basis . I see it's value in organize people for social events and other things that bring others together, in person, under bright clouds but not inside the one that is otherwise called the internet. I use it only for interaction if circumstances make the former impossible and impractical by circumstance and distance IE relatives in another country what have you.

Now I am done with interacting with Facebook on that level.. I will use it as I have used it before.: A tool to keep my information known and current with those I know personally and meet in person. Keep track of whatever event may be of interest to me wherever I may be at the present. And to communicate with those who can't be with me in a physical space, separated from me by long distances across lands and oceans. "

Sounds like a sensible idea to me.

You live in Iowa too! Nice!
Yeah, facebook is just a wasteland of people being false. I still use it though from time to time and keep it somewhat real. I've managed to keep my friends list under 50 with only current people I know and honestly that's big enough.

@Feyokien.. Ehh Iowa City is Ok. Its not all its cracked up to be, its a pretty exclusion sort of town. if your not a hippie , a member of the writer's workshop or from Chicago, you'd be hard pressed to find friends or anything to do. Iowa City is really small, the university actually takes up most of the real estate. Most of the people who come don't stay after 4 years. I guess the # of apsies in the whole state of Iowa is so small its a wonder there is a group at all. I guess most of the aspies went to Iowa instead Iowa State

Nah I'm still attending, I'm a junior but I got a few more years left to go, changed my major halfway through to Computer Science.

Alright so I'm not sure if this is the proper place to be posting the comment that I have but I have to get something off my chest and it does involve facebook too. I appreciate any comments from people and I know Aspergers is a struggle because of the social miscues, misunderstandings, and misfires. Here it is:

I had a friend in university and he was a good friend to me for a long while but every so often he would unleash these stupid attacks against religion and get very political and I hated it, it really pissed me off because I treasured this spiritual religious side of myself and I felt that he partly was destroying that and thus everytime he went off on a rant, it disturbed me greatly. One time he singled me out for a debate about abortion, was very mean about it, made fun of me. I felt humiliated and terrible. Years have gone by and I haven't truly gotten over it and in the mean time I've developed these terrible stress disorders and now it feels like I have agoraphobia, fear of just going out into the world and interacting with people has become endlessly complicated and stressful. I no longer feel like me and I'm not working or pursuing my dreams at all. The friendship ended over facebook but I have always been stricken partly with guilt that I ended it, on one hand, but on the other I didn't want to be friends with someone who was constantly bringing up religion and politics at every turn and having these incredibly judgmental comments and negative beliefs about it. UGH! It was so goddamn frustrating to listen to, I don't have to listen to it anymore however, as I am free from it. A part of me wants to reconcile, a part wants to let bygones be bygones, but I'm partly afraid of running into this person again too. And I don't really want to talk to him either.

Any advice is much appreciated and very helpful. Thank you, I needed to describe this.

One of the greatest movies of all time, in my opinion.

"Bill" was played by Mickey Rooney.
