Should I give up on my friend?

I'm 16, and a guy, and as many of you may know, I made a friend this summer who is 17 and a girl... However, I haven't talked to her in months, because her and her mom have always been busy....My mom and I went over to my mom's friends house today, and we saw my friend's mom, and I asked her if they could come over when they're not busy, and she said yes, and said she has been really busy, and she was talking about how stressed she was with my mom... However, I'm tired of waiting, and she said she has 15 more days in her online class, and I'm starting to think my friend's parents aren't all that nice... I sometimes feel uncomfortable with them because of it, and her dad especially annoys me....also, my friend is aloof, and shy, and not very "affectionate" or "warm" whereas I'm very emotional.... but right now she's my only friend, because things didn't work out with the 12 year old girl (she didn't come to the Eid program AGAIN). However, I did meet two older girls at the Eid program yesterday.... What should I do?

I'd keep her as a friend. How is her dad annoying you?

That's the way some girls are. They are shy...but she still might like you.
