When I go out to recess, I look around and see groups of people chit-chatting, gossiping, playing sports... And I am just laying my back against the fence watching. Nobody really seems to notice me. I want to say "Hi", but I am just too shy. It's very rare when I actually spot somebody alone like I am. I just want to fit in, but it's really hard. Does anybody have any advice? Thanks. :)

I would say at least 90% of the people here have experienced what you've experienced, including me.

Are there any clubs in your school which reflect what you are really interested in? If so, I would say that is a better way to make friends.

Maybe, during recess, you could go to "study hall" or the library.

Welcome to the Forum.

My school doesn't have any clubs, and I'll have to look into study hall, because we do have that.

I can't believe a middle school in Oregon doesn't have clubs! That's a travesty!

Join our club here--we are kindred spirits!

What is something that interests you the most?

I am really interested in Star Fox, but most people at my school have no clue what Star Fox even is!! UGH!! ! -_-

EDIT: And I think the reason why there are no clubs is because I go to a K-8 school, and it always seems that the K-5 kids are the highest priority...

The only person I ever notice who is alone is this girl, let's say her name is Jane Doe. We do share a few similar interests such as drawing (But not Star Fox), but she is just plain rude! She always tells me to be quiet in a rude tone of voice when I cry, and that doesn't help at all!! One time, when we were waiting outside a locked door to get into school, one of the friendly teachers noticed us, and started to chat with us. I chatted with her a bit, and Jane rudely interrupted, "Hey! Could you just let us in now!?" Which just made me cringe.

I think you're going to be okay. You have an excellent sense of good manners.

Are there any websites devote to StarFox? Maybe that might help you a bit.

If you go on one of those websites, don't talk to anybody who tries to get sexual with you. Or who curses quite a bit. That could really happen.

Just be careful out there in the Internet. They're looking for lonely people like you. Just throw them away with the rest of the garbage.

Hey Lily,

I think that sort of website can help a bit with your loneliness.

But you do have to be wary. You have a long life ahead of you. And it's lived best if you feel safe and secure.

You're into video games? Have you thought of asking around about who likes gaming? You might also not be alone when it comes to having Asperger's that like video games and Star Fox. In fact you might wish to meet with your guidance counselor because they might know.

I have tried going on one of those sites before, but unfortunately, almost everybody cussed like crazy!! And that just-so happened to be the only Star Fox Forum that was still active... (That's how underrated Star Fox is).

I think it's smart to stay away, then.

You don't want to put yourself in that sort of environment.

Ya... And there is this other active Star Fox fansite that doesn't have any cussing or any of that, but it isn't exactly a Star Fox fansite, it's directed towards one Star Fox character, and I have never been a big fan of that character the site is directed at. Plus, it doesn't have a chatroom/forum, it's more of a blog, actually.
