So it says, and I believe them, but most of the time the Cornish speak their own version of English. Including such terms as "scat", but I'm not sure whether it's Cornish or Cornwall English dialect:
"Fishing's scat, mining's scat, farming's scat, tourism's scat. It's back to wrecking, boys!"
(I qualify as Cornish under the grandfather rule, but I'm not pushing it.)
