I don't know if anyone else has found that its easier to be friends with kids who are stoned all the time because they don't get bothered by things as much.....most of my friends are either really tolerant people or stoners.

It's not that I'm imposing my morals on other people, but I find it VERY difficult to relate to people who drink or do drugs. It REALLY freaks me out to be around people who are drunk/high because they aren't in a reasonable state of mind and it is difficult to communicate properly with them. Also, I really don't like that people drink and do drugs as a way to have fun (which is ironic since a lot of people I've met have assumed I'm into pot, which is strange since I'm not laid back at all.)

I could never hang out with a stoner.

why not?
stoners in general are more open minded
less likely to start unnecessary drama
DEFINITLY more laid back

of course everyone is different so maybe the stoners you have known were as*holes

i didnt mean that i fully agree with it, just that they seem to be calmer and more understanding and maybe a little bit happier so they don't have to take out their own insecurities on you.

most of my friends drink and/or smoke. it's where you find other oddbods. it's ok. i get tired of the stoners sometimes because it all gets a bit 'cheech and chong'.

I didn't say it was a serious drug, I said it affects their state of mind, which it does...that's the definition of a drug. It might make people more "laid back" but I've hung out with stoners in 3 different countries and it changes everyone in the same way it seems. Plus, now that I think of it, I'm not sure I wouldn't call weed "serious", since really every stoner I've been with has had their life almost revolve around weed...making weed jokes and references, incorporating weed into normal stuff like hanging out and listening to music, talking about the next time they're all going to get together and get high. I get so tired of it so quickly...being a stoner is like being in some sort of mindless club, and you can only be a member if your mind has been altered in the same way.

I knew some people who smoked dope while I was at university, and it never failed to make me feel uncomfortable whenever they would start rolling joints.

I never could understand what the point was, to be honest (drinking I had less of a problem with, for some reason... although I don't do that anymore).

well at least you have a reason instead of just blindly hating it like some people do

i really wouldnt call it a "serious" drug though
ive been around alcoholics and true drug addicts people you couldnt leave alone in your house otherwise youd have something missing when you came back

but i really cant argue with you because most of what you said is true
its just not for some people

Most of my friends from my younger days were stoners.
Then there are the stoners into harder stuff too; they are more fun.

I've known a fair few Stoners, and I don't remeber any of them talking about it much unless I brought it up, one of them (My best friend) remarked that he thought it would be funny to see what I was like stonned. He doesn't do drugs anymore though, he had to quit because he wanted to get into the military or at least that was the last I heard on the subject.

Apparently it helped him concentrate on his school work.
