Feeling Lonely

Hello everyone. Is there anyone else out there who feels lonely? Because I sure do. I feel the need to talk to someone, but being an aspie, I have a hard time doing that, even online. I do have a small group of friends, but they’re more like my boyfriend’s friends rather than my own, so I don’t really talk to them much other than when my boyfriend and I hangout with them together. Even then, those hangouts are few and far between. I rarely interact with anyone outside of my family or my boyfriend, and it’s starting to take a toll on me. As introverted as I am, and as much as I do enjoy spending time alone, I do need *some* social interaction for good health. I really want to meet people (even just online) who have similar interests as me, but it’s really difficult for me. Does anyone have any advice?

i say you should try out joining some gaming community on the internet (for me it was discord). you can search discord servers on discord and choose which one would fit you. most of my socialising was on those servers and i met a lot of great people through it. i highly recommend it if you're interested.

I understand how you feel. Do you have any opportunities to put yourself out there? So like for me, I tried out a bunch of clubs to enter various social circles. The thing is though, this takes time. You don't immediately become friends with people(this was news to me, that is why I am stating something obvious.)

I hope you're feeling better. And another poster recommended Discord, I second this. I joined a sewing and crafts group and I've been having a nice time there.

As weird as this sounds, I am trying to move into a group with people who feel the same and have closer bonds with them. I've been an extreme introvert all of my life but I'm trying to experiment.

And this is gonna sound even more weird but I actually have a harder time finding friends online when I do try to look and I am reluctant to interact with anyone the rest of the time. How exactly do you find people to play Minecraft with?

I'd start looking at Youtube videos and find the most personable people (they will generally have the most subscribers). Read the comments, reply to the ones you like - pretty soon you'll find some people.
