People say I'm paranoid about this.. It seems everytime I go somewhere there is at least one person who STARES at me for the longest time. I mean to the point where it makes me so pissed off I just wanna yell, "DON'T LOOK AT ME ANYMORE!!" and I always joke and say, "I must be so beautiful, they can't stop looking." to make myself feel better. Because seriously it makes me feel so uncomfortable because I'll look away from them and try to ignore them, and then when I look back that way they're STILL staring with this MEAN SNOBBY expression. I especially hate when people look me up and down like they're judging me. It happens so much and its not in my head. They actually are staring. I don't think I'm doing or wearing anything to make myself stand out and give them something to stare at for that long of a time.

well jw if anyone else could relate or if its just me being "paranoid" yet again.

I have the opposite problem. I'm invisible. Nobody ever notices me. Unless it's to be hurtful.

I always see people staring at me, sometimes in lectures, or just while I'm walking somewhere. Then I start trying to work out why they're string at me. Maybe I just come across as a bit weird? :? I don't think you're paranoid though, I get the same thing.

I have major issues mostly with anyone staring at me as I have scars on my arms from when I used to self harm and always assume it is because of those or my lack of eyebrows(I pull them when stressed or bored). I don't hold back, I usually loudly say something rude and walk to where they cannot stare.

Maybe they're attracted to your body. Do they like you, these people? Or can you only see one hand? ;)

I definitely get this, too. Sometimes it takes all of my self control, not to yell, "What f--k are you looking at?" I get it everywhere; the supermarket, the downtown streets, the post office. I don't mind when it's a little kid, because they are sweet. Yesterday, this little girl kept waving at me and smiling. So I waved back, and her mother said, "Who are you waving at?" Then she looked at me like I was crazy. Go figure.

When it comes to getting help in stores....when I looked "punk" they would follow me around(I didnt shop lift, but a lot of other punks did),so I can understand this. When it came to needing assistence....(I look normal, sort of ,now),I cant seem to get them to see me.I have actuall stood in front of a regester for several minutes and had to ask the cashier to help me,while they wonder around a few feet away behind regester!

I rarely go out in public, but I am more ignored then stared at.

When I get stared at, I stare back at them until they look away.

I littarly do turn around and say "Take a picture, it will last longer", in a joke-ish way, and it allways starts a interesting conversation, and some of the sarcastic people will take out a camera phone and take a picture. In my oppinion its a great way too have a laugh with a stranger! :)

I get more upset if I hear people laughing, than if they're looking in my direction. It takes a lot of willpower to convince myself that they're likely not to be laughing at me specifically.

:(

I always think people are laughing at me when I can hear them. Especially if they're behind me.
