I don't get him

Hi:
I am friends with another individual with Asperger's like myself and he often seems to invite me to group events. When it comes to getting together one one one, he is just too busy doing this or that. He also has urged me to join him at several things in the past and appears to run off with everyone else while seemed to ignore or avoid me if I try to approach him. He also never seems to call me and see how I am doing or anything.

He also happens to be involved with programs through the agency where I work and there was a meeting today and I picked up on a few things.
1. I was asked to pick something up at our office and wanted to know if he would like to walk with me. "No I have several people who are coming that I need to speak with."
2. He sat next to me at lunch and I attempted to make conversation with him and it was just felt awkward. This was by not only ignoring me but by getting up to talk with other people.

To be honest, this guy sounds like a busy person.

I don't think he dislikes you; I just think he has lots on his plate. You are not his priority--but you are not last on his list, either.

Hopefully, you could take the opportunity to meet other people at the events this guy invites you to.

I know that he doesn't dislike me and I don't think that's the issue. As for meeting other people at his events, I am all for that because he knows some pretty neat individuals.

I just wonder if I am at the bottom of his list.

You're probably closer to the top than the bottom.

I will keep that in mind.
