In october, my best friend of 20 years turned up missing... Then turned up dead... The police refuse to investigate and have ruled it a murder...

The full story is here--> http://www.savagelightstudios.com/warpedlens/?p=383

I... Don't... don't know what to do, how to proceed or even how to start processing this... I am wrecked... I haven't slept in pretty much 5 months. I have nightmares, insomnia, depression, my creativity is dead...

The worst part of all of this is that I KNOW that one of the people in his life knows what happened... and they won't tell me...

So... yeah... whatever.

sorry for that,
that's a complicated story,
suicides can take mysterious roads, flirting with danger 'till the point of no return
dark things, and the grip of them
or getting on with YOUR LIFE ! !

Yeah... Can't get on with my life... His killer is still out there, several of the suspects are harassing his widow, and since it was a "suicide" the police refuse to intervene there...

I appreciate the sentiment, and maybe I misunderstood your intent...

But 5 months is not an unreasonable grieving period.

can his widow appeal to the cops for relief from the harassment from said suspects, or something more?

I read your website, you are great detective.

One idea ...

The cellphone company would have the cellphone usage before/after the incident. They would know the cell tower locations it pinged, calls incoming/outgoing, and texting usage.

As a dear friend, if you have his personal information, or with the help of his family, you might be able to create an online account with the cell provider, and look at the phone usage history online.

LoveNotHate: Thank you... I am also a private investigator... so it feels good to have someone acknowledge that aspect of it.

One problem... it hadn't been active in a couple years... it was used as a data display device up til the day he disappeared... we have no idea if it was activated, and none of the paperwork FOR the phone... and it was prepay...

auntblabby: It's a different person each time... but they are all part of the same group... as such, since it's not been a pattern of behavior from one person, they can do nothing.

conspiracies are the depth of evil AFAIC. the ultimate in bullying behavior among the infernal sorts who engage in it. you can't fight a conspiracy without something bigger.

auntblabby: there's no conspiracy... just a complete lack of motivation and willingness on the part of the coroner and police to do anything... Conspiracies take work... and that is what they are avoiding.

if not a conspiracy then what about the multiple suspects you said were harassing the widow? I thought multiple people working towards a nefarious goal [murder and harassment] was a conspiracy.

that's horrible.
I am sorry that nobody is looking into it.
You did a great job at looking for evidence.

I was just curious, have you talked to a lawyer?

True... however, conspiracy has a certain connotation... this... is a plot... f**k...I don't know...

All I know is that I have photographic evidence and eyewitness accounts of several of the suspects in places they shouldn't be, doing things they shouldn't be doing...

reminds me of a line from a movie- "forget it jake, it's Chinatown." NOT saying you should take that advice.

Only if they're working together. There are a lot of mean-spirited bullies out there, and they don't have to conspire to target one victim.

Oh... we are suing... but the city of New Orleans has not paid out on a judgement in the last 20 years.
