I was a former Buddy at my high school's chapter and also served as Buddy Director for a year. Best Buddies in case you don't know is a international program that is dedicated to providing 1 to 1 unified friendships for people with intellectual disabilities in middle school and high school. There are also College chapters, Citizens which pairs an adult with ID up with a peer buddy as well as a Jobs program in which individuals can gain employment.
I would like to find out more about your experiences in any of the programs because I was wanting to get information on how to join like the Citizens, College or the Jobs program. That would be great if you could tell me a little more about these three programs I mentioned and the quality of them. Which of these belong to as the best of each of these types in say the United States or the world? Thanks!
