I have started a new job and am really grateful to be in it when there are people who are using food banks and living in poverty.

However, I find it really stressful and often smash my office up (my boss used to be a teacher and understands i am autistic).

As well as this i am stressed when i am out of work and am often to stressed to speak to people who I know.

How can I tell them i am too stressed to speak to them without sounding rude?

If your boss knows you're autistic, then you can tell the people that want to talk to you that you like them....but that sometimes it is stressful for you to interact with others because of your autism.

Say it in a conciliatory manner, and thank them for "listening."

Explain that you really enjoy them but that you are not really much of a social person along with often having other issues with stress.
