For every positive there is a negative. It's just how the world works, so no matter what you'll always have the many types of people and strangers rejecting you, and perhaps not giving in to what you say. You may also have strangers that will wish to embarrass yourself in front of everyone, but the best way to look at the embarrassment is to take it all in stride. No one knows what normal is, and if people want to make you look like you have zero belonging in their environment, then get out of that environment, or ignore the people that are challenging you.
If the people you feel you belong with do not click with you at all. Then it is okay that they don't click. Maybe you didn't need them in the first place. What matters is that you are yourself.
