I have a friend who has Asperger's, who said that he should do something which he has always been against. Then he said everyone should do it once. It is possible he was hinting that I should be doing said thing? Do Aspies ever hint at things that they'd be uncomfortable saying outright?

He's not entirely wrong, but that doesn't sound like normal Aspie behavior to me. To my understanding, Aspies generally state things very explicitly - sometimes too much so.
