Okay its a long story how I came about this article but my mom was searching threw articles about asperger's (she still doesnt know much about it) and she found one and forwarded it to me (God knows why) about a young aspie girl that lives in my city (who is just a year younger then me because the articles just about 5 years old.) In it she sounds so nice and caring and talks about helping aspies and I would really like to meet her... which is the problem. How the heck do you contact a girl (either by phone or mail) that you have never met saying "you sound cool would like to talk more" or whatever. Also what would her parents think about some boy emailing her out of the middle of nowhere because of a 5 year old newspaper article. Help I am so confused.
A very confused Dragon

Go for it Enders. Just tell her you'd like to meet up because you both have AS and you could help each other through life. I'm sure her parents would be thrilled for you to get in touch.

I agree with tom.

If you are respectful and use all the normal caution when meeting people you've meet on the internet...ie public place, inviting her parents the first time even maybe...you should be fine.

Have fun and invite her to Wrong Planet!

5 years ago? Keep in mind she may be dead by now, or even married with 12 kids and living in Ethiopia.

Ive done a lil research silly her parents still live here in town so I assume she does to at least for now (she just finished her senior year after all.) And Beebee I didnt meet her online just saw her online. Oh and I dont think its humanly possible for a 18 year old girl to have 12 kids :-p.

Yes, your right! I misread that, you are going to contact her via mail or phone. Either would work but mail would be easier for me. Which way sounds good to you?

They could start taking fetrility drugs at 16 and have three sets of quadruplets! OK, so that would be twisted, but it's possible!

I think contacting her is a fine idea as well; and if she doesn't contact you back/does and doesn't want to meet, don't be too upset; nothing lost. But, by the same token: Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
