Close working relationship would be best?
I was reading a series of books which demonstrated this.
I think a close professional working relationship may be the only relationship I could be comfortable with. It seems that disclosure of personal history and generally personal questions about that history (which is the worst part of a social connection, to me) would be less likely to be normal.
A working relationship would be more likely to remain on topic (work) and be content driven. If both parties were interested in their work, then the content would be interesting to both. It would also be a useful relationship, if both people were good at their jobs and used those talents in order to assist their colleagues and get things done well. I imagine there would be gratification in such a connection.
It seems to me that a close professional relationship may be one that avoids all the pitfalls that I can't stand in other connections, while providing many of the positives and advantages.
