Hi

I am a 25-year old master student in Chemistry in Denmark. I was diagnosed with Asperger's by the age of 23, and despite being late diagnosed and the fact that I did not receive any advises and guidance of how best to cope with Asperger's in the wake of the diagnosis, I have a sense of good self-understanding. The greatest difficulty that I encounter on a daily basis associated with the diagnosis is my verbal communication skill. This leads to my question: Is there a course somewhere in the world that seeks to improve this skill? My immagination is that such course would spand over 2-4 weeks and take the participant through lots of practical exercises. I would willingly pay a high price for such a course.

Your help is immensely appreciated

I have not heard of a course like this I also have the same problem I was not diagnosed until I was about 19/20 that was 9 years ago and I only found out about the diagnose last week. I think the course you described would be a great Idea hope something like that does exist.

I have asked my paychologist for ideas on this exact thing. If she gets back to me I will share here.

There is a website called Socialthinking dot com I heard it recommended on one of the Podcasts that I listen to (Thrive with Aspergers with Steve Borgman). It has good explanations.

Hi Morten,

I was late diagnosed too (last year, aged 40). I would be interested in something like that too.

By the way, I live in Odense too. :D

Hi

Thanks for your comments - it is good to see that there is agreement about the need for such a course. I look forward to seeing additional comments from those that might have something more to share.
