If an acquaintance sends you a text. Don't answer it right away. You don't want to appear to anxious. I learned this the hard way. Wait a couple hours.

Don't blow up their phone with text messages either.

You need to be a little hard to get.

Wait a couple hours to answer a text? Most people have their phones attached to their bodies. I think the other person would know something is up.

You would be amazed at how slow NTs can be at answering text messages.

Answer a text when you get it. But don’t send a lot of messages all at once. Give them a chance to respond.

If they are into mind games and think you’re lame for responding right away, they aren’t worth corresponding with any further.

Nah, you really don't answer right away unless it's a close friend.......but agreed on not sending a bunch of messages.

You want to give people the sense you have a life. Answering right away might make you look as if you are just waiting. I know this from experience back years ago when texting came out.

They can't be any slower than me! I overthink everything I write, so a short simple text can take me hours to compose. Then I usually delete it all and think about for the next day and often end up not replying at all. Writing is easier than talking, but communication s!cks either way!
