I don't feel the dislike vibe so much as general indifference. Total absence of feeling as if I'm irrelevant in my church circles. I just need find something else.....and perhaps this could help others. I fit with certain types of people or groups.

Realize that most people will have a hard time relating to us. I used to be part of an alternative lifestyle group which meant acceptance for me until most of these people moved away or became Christian like me.

In the 1980s, people really were into something called “A Course in Miracles.”

If I were “spiritual,” I would have made many more friends. I was surrounded by spirituality....

My rationalist agnosticism made me not fit in.

We focused on foods and positive spirituality with an emphasis on the moon. I taught Pilates to our group. Had some sacred circles, incense too.

I can identify with agnostic thoughts. The group accepted that about me.

It's ironic isn't? Christians are supposed to be accepting, but they are often the least accepting of everyone.

I work two chairs from somebody who's into that stuff....and yoga.

She's pretty cool.

Kraftie, you are so easy going....that person two seats away sounds really awesome.

Elaine, often Christians are the hardest people to be friends with. I don't fit into that tribe.

I love yoga. I’d like to start going to classes instead of just doing a home practice. I enjoy being around spiritual people. In my experience, most traditionally religious people aren’t very spiritual.

Religious people are too conformist to expand themselves through spirituality, usually. They're stuck in their rituals. In actions, philosophy, as well as their mode of praying.

I wish I had the belief-system to get into "spiritual"/metaphysical things. But my mind just doesn't lean that way.

Most of the religions in my area seem to be based on fear. Fear is not a good basis for spirituality.

I live next to a church that’s liberal for the area, and it has a billboard up right now that says: “If you think it’s hot here...”

Yoga. Had two fabulous teachers back than. Now we just have a Catholic one....not a great vibe.

Pilates was great with original teacher and tied it to Yoga....continuity...and the Chicago workout complete with music from her training up there.
