I sometimes go to a doughnut shop in my area because, despite it being a religious organization, they make the best doughnuts around. I've never really socialized with the people but last time I went, there was a cute young girl working behind the counter. She had sort of a punk rock hairstyle (Buzzed around the sides but not on the top and front) and had a lot of energy but I didn't engage in conversation with her because my mind felt conflicted about the things I've been told about interacting with strangers, especially in retail. But now I am kicking myself for not saying anything besides what doughnuts and drinks I wanted when she asked mez

The best thing to do when you see here there is say "Good afternoon," "How are you?" Start talking about the donuts and which ones are your favorite.
