A friend just assumed that I was going to pay her way

A friend of mine wanted to go to see fireworks(her idea) on my birthday and I told her it would be $3 each way for the bus. So were at the bus station waiting for the bus and she tells me she only has $2 and asks to borrow $1. She just assumes I am going to pay for her way home which of course my bus card I have only works for me, not her so that meant I had to order an Uber to get home for $11 as I am clearly not going to leave her stranded.

Afterwards I ask her to simply pay her half of the Uber and give me the $1 that she borrowed off of me. Mind you we are friends with benefits(used to date but not anymore), not dating and both of us are on disability. She calls me cheap for asking for the $1 back and said it was my fault for ordering an Uber because she says she would have just panhandled for $3. No one was going to give her $3 I am sure of that. She also only had less than 5 minutes to do so as the last bus left within 5 mins of the fireworks ending. She already owes me for about $190 for her part of the last trip we had together last weekend(she usually pays up and was just waiting for her to get paid). I really hate this bs that women think that they can treat men like an ATM. Of course no f*****g feminists ever complain about their privilege in this area. I don't want anyone to pay for me, I just want them to pay their half. It was on my birthday of all f*****g days too.

It would have been much better if she had asked to borrow some cash before hand.

I hope you have some fun on your birthday despite this upset.

I'm sorry that happened Noca. She sounds rather thoughtless and entitled, and I'm ashamed if that's representative of your experience with other women. People shouldn't go anywhere if they can't afford their share, with extra money for contingencies.

I hope you enjoyed the fireworks and had a good birthday, regardless.

How unpleasant, and on your birthday too. I never expect anyone to pay my way and am even embarrassed if they try. I think she was out of line and so not only is she exploiting you but she's making it seem like it is your fault.

you can (and did) make your point that your friend is a leech and not lay it on "feminism" which btw if you knew anything about includes the belief that a woman pays her own way.

Well, that IS a basic idea of feminism. However, it does not take into account those many nominal 'feminists' who see nothing wrong with exploiting men for their wealth and property.

"nominal" being the key word.

Feminism has mutated from its original intent (e.g., equal rights and opportunities for women) into a movement to exploit men at every opportunity.

Egalitarianism, on the other hand, is a movement to treated everyone equally.

Sure, you can try, but it would take an argument much more reasonable than insinuating that all men are closed-minded -- a very sexist idea, by the way.
