Last night I woke up in a state of paralysis and felt this pain running up and down the right side of my arm, almost like someone poking something very sharp into my body.

This happened through out teenage years but in a different form. I would wake up in the middle of the night, half asleep, half awake, in paralysis, and be under the illusion that band members were in the room with me, I would spend a long length of time talking to them and seeing them, while half asleep, then suddenly snap out of it and realise that the band where not actually there and that I was talking to no one but illusionary versions of the band, almost like an awake dream but it was not a dream, it was real but in a state of paralysis. I used to see band members in vivid dreams also, kind of seems odd that people I know could travel and communicate with me in my mind at night.

Before they came to the house, I would manically clean the house, systemise the furniture, leave no traces of dust at all, because I knew they would come and mess the house up eventually and not clean up behind them. I was very cautious of these people but also I liked them a lot and spent a lot of time fixating and obsessing with them to a point of delusion, so obsessive delusions.

I think there is healthy obsessing, then unhealthy obsessing to a point it is causing severe anxiety. I was obsessing unhealthily.

So, I am going to assume the cause is phyco-social stress, or some neuro-synaptic response to social stress.

Has anyone else experienced any weird perceptual experiences due to phyco-social stress?

Sounds like three separate issues:
1. Pain running down the arm when waking up - I have the same problem, it's neurological issue of neck spine. It would be wise to consult a neurologist. Profiled cushion may help.
2. Waking in the state of paralysis - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_paralysis - it's a sleep disorder.
3. Obsessing over cleaning the house when someone has to enter - yeah, it's unhealthy but understandable. People from outside are entering your private space, space you normally control. Losing this control is hard and stressful, even if only for limited time.
