Between boys and girls, there is attraction because of hormones. Yet, it is possible to be "just" friends with a girl (or boy). Maybe there are various kinds of them and sometimes, they do not match, but your minds match as friends. It is simplified.

We all had to face puppy love. It is how
the iceberg of hormones is chipped at.
Look at the opposite sex as a person
and see where you stand in their eye's
and then love can blossom from
within to then to the other.

The bigger the iceberg, the more your
hormones, and understanding of them
must be chipped at. So here's to
puppy love AND THEN UNDERSTANDING.

May you heart find love from within,
and then it can extend to others who
truly see you as a special person.

Sincerely,
Ghosthunter

Yes, it's normal to be friends with a girl.

Just because someone is theoretically sexually compatible (e.g. you are a heterosexual boy, they are a heterosexual girl) it doesn't mean there has to be romantic feelings between the two.

Boys and girls / men and women have much to learn from each other as friends.

"'Ello darlin'! Grap yer coat luv - you've pulled!" Usually works for me

How romantic!, But seriously, I am
asking about how you are able to
listen and recieve, though I am aware
of our reicipcol and literal meaning
issues, at least try to show some
consideration, and trust that is even
a challenge when I have to deal with
NT's.

good luck,

Sincerely,

A good number of my friends are girls. I treat them like everyone else, but I'm more inclined to be polite, that's all.

Yes, of course it is possible. But sometimes things can get weird too.

i think it is possible. i have many guy friends. sure, there is that attraction @ times, but they can be a nice break from only being friends w/ the same sex.

also, if you ever end up liking her, she'll trust you and respect you more b/c she knows you! isn't that great?

just be relaxed, make her feel like she's wanted. talk to her about a special interest you both share, like a tv show or movie or something. you can flirt, but if you do too much she may get confused. talk to her like you would w/ a guy, except cut the sex, racist or lesbian jokes, if you do any of those, cuz girls don't normally find those funny.

I seem to get on better with male friends than with female friends.

Now I seem to be making friends with younger guys and some people say because I'm older than then and a woman that I shouldn't be friends with them and I think that sucks. :( Maybe it is because I have 5 younger brothers.

Surely you don't have to be friends just with people your own age and sex?

I think it's great you can be friends with a girl and I would agree with the advice about being careful with sex, racist and similar jokes. Friendship doesn't have to turn into a romantic relationship and sometimes romance spoils a frienship because then jealousy issues surface.

Sometimes romance follows on from friendship and that is cool, too. :)
