I'm asking not specifically because I want to meet, but because I have never met another aspie in real life... there didn't seem to be any in the schools I went to. :( Maybe there aren't a lot of aspies in Edmonton? Or maybe I was in the wrong place...

I used to live in Edmonton (and in St Albert). I have since moved to Toronto.

If I am an aspie now, I was one then! :)

I liked Edmonton a lot. Lots of trails for biking and hiking. It was very beautiful. But hot damn, it got cold. And there was no transit (well, in comparison to Toronto anyway, where transit is plentiful and quick).

I happen to live in Edmonton proper. By all means, send me a pm (private message) if you want to find out more.

HAI.

We've a totally banging VARIETY but 'smore a question of trying to locate a clique, something, anything. Bit scuffed by the fact that most aspies I've met are homeschooled or have succiently dominated their *obligatory social quirks* to the point where they're pro'lly more socially conscious than the average denizen.

YEAH>

Edmonton's pretty much abhorrent for minority groups or having a consistent subculture, scene, ~bit unrelated but it's easy to speculate why isolation + discordance is Defo' the thing when we're half the size of London and hue an eighth of the population :/

but aye,
we're 'ere.

Kinda wish there was some crass equivalent of a nightclub for teens here, no?

not sure how well I fit, my psychologist sure thinks I'm an aspie. I'd be open to a coffee or a park.

hi!! !! i am in e-town!! ! yay for snow!! !

there are some edmonton aspie groups. one is for people age 18 to 24, called "The ABCs of Understanding Neurotypicals". LOL on that name

http://www.autismedmonton.org/files/bro ... ochure.pdf

there may also be a group for teenagers if you are not close to 18. you can check out the website:

http://www.autismedmonton.org/

the socity has a big push for getting media attention, funding, and resources for older teenagers and adults as we often fall through the cracks in terms of programs.

there is a group i attend for people 25 and over, and it is quite good. we cover all kinds of topics every second week and have social outings as well.

the only way to tell if it is fun is to try it out. there is nothing to lose!
