new people, slightly “undertrying” seems coin of the realm?

And I don’t mean being a jerk or being a butthole. I just mean dancing slightly behind the beat.
And then there’s something President Franklin Roosevelt said about public speaking —
1) be sincere,
2) be brief,
3) be seated!
So, by all means, share my interests such as “I like history,”
just don’t go on and on about them.
And then, when the magic happens and someone gets intensely interested in what I’m saying, accept that gift.
