Looking up former acquaintances
Linked In , or Classmates.com but those companies do not leave you slone , unless you quit using that email account that you signed up with. Honestly,Personally speaking not sure , I want to do something like this, People change, sometimes by a large amount. .based on personal experience . Usually , a person might lose contact with some people for their own reasons ....
of which you might not be priviledged to know. For me ,it would feel like walking , into a minefield of humans..?
But if you proceed, will wish you all the best ...

Loves velcro,
There are some people I'm in touch with on Facebook but I don't talk to them, really just like their posts and that's our only communication. I don't know how to stay in touch with people because I feel like I would just be bothering them and I don't know what to say. It makes me sad because I would like to have more friends and I would also like to be someone who is nice and who makes other people feel valued, but I just don't have it in me and don't know how to do it. I even have some friends who live here in town whom I haven't seen in many months, and I just don't know how to reach out to them.
been looking up my 5th grade math teacher. 30 years ago. mr JT.
mr jt said that he was on a professional hockey team, but his name is not on their list of former players.
mr jt's facebook said he worked as a schoolteacher his whole life after his hockey career. now he's retired and "very happy". it doesn't list any relationships, but he took two pictures of a boy he claimed was his son. his son, allegedly, phd student in physics at a nearby university. mr jt's facebook said that he spent 2 years in community college, then 2 years @ a university then 2 years at a different university. bachelors in kinesiology and masters in education. nothing impressive though.
according to the internet, mr jt's brother got a bachelor's in computer science and MBA.
according to the internet, mr jt's mom was a 5th grade teacher (just like him). his dad was an industrial engineer and in the military.

it takes a lot of time, $$ and energy and talent/potential to get into the National Hockey League.
How did an industrial engineer and a 5th grade teacher pay to send Mr JT to enough hockey lessons to get into the NHL? I can't wrap my mind around it.
just seems like almost everyone's living WAY f*****g beyond their means.

I have one old friend from the 1970s who I look for on occasion but have never been able to find him. He was an impressive Mathematician who was a bit quirky.
The last I saw him, he was starting up a computer copy to manufacture and make boards and drivers to run peripherals. His partner was a bit of a twit. The last thing I heard about him was that the partner forced him to sell out their company about a year after they sold it. They apparently did pretty well, but really should have kept the company.
One of my math books had previously belonged to him. I don't remember if I bought it from him to help him with funds to start up his new company or if I bought it at a book sale and was surprised to see his name inside.
