Haveing reached 70, I've no friends, and I'm not sure if I count as socially skilled (though I get on well enough with most people) but on two occaisions recently, quite independantly, I've been described as charming! Nothing like it ever happend before, so it was quite anice,if bemusing, surprise!

That is a lovely, encouraging experience to share. There will be opportunities for kindness and authenticity, always. As long as there are people.

Thanks for helping to make the world a nicer, better place.

As you age , it appears people seem to want to respect older person in some parts of the world that have more
tendencies to older values .. And their expectations of you change . But honestly have found in bigger cities in the USA
you can also be seen as targets of opportunity for scams ..gaslighting by even groups of people, even by other older people. And even low level violence. But there are the benefits in the country . That some countries that offer to its elders as they are not as often employable . So stipends often are allowed.More free time. For yourself, hopefully .( depending)
Occassionally people can respect you for your knowledge. To hopefully get future advise to help them along the way. :D
Welcome to your 70s. :D
