I graduated from high school a while back and since then I've been stuck at home. I don't have a job or a car. So basically I'm stuck at home until I go back to school again (or get a job). The problem is that I think I'm slowly going crazy. I've done nothing but surf the internet, watch TV and played video games. I'm pretty much a recluse because I can't think of other things to do and I'm not very social. I feel like I'm being strangled by the fact that I can't do much or talk to many of my friends whom are either in the 12th grade now or getting their lives started. What should I do?

I have this exact same problem. Right now, I've been systematically applying for jobs at every fast food joint near where I live, and I've gone out with some friends once.

The first piece of advice I can give is try not to compare yourself with others. They've had 12 years to get their lives together and you're just starting. It can do nothing put make you depressed. The second is to try seeing value in any interaction you have outside your family - just saying "hi" to the cashier at McDonald's is as good a start as any.
