I am not really sure what this actually is since most people that I know (ie on facebook) are more like acquaintances who put up a facade and although I might try to talk to them once in a while but they rarely seem to be really interested in what I have to say and vice versa. There are people who in my college classes where I do discuss my ambitions and subjects that we care about and we may talk to each other after classes. However, it seems that we never call each other or ever think about talking to the other person if they are out of sight. When I have seen these type of people in high school, where we are forced to be with one another for an extended period of time, I usually notice they are too concerned with themselves and are not really true friends. What are some traits people must have for them to be considered a real friend?

so called friends and acuatances are somewhat easy to come by for most people, even us, but that true friend, is not for even NT's let alone us.

My definition of a true friend is someone you can trust, someone you can really talk to about anything. A true friend is someone who accepts ya compelty for who you are and will stick by ya no matter what.

A true friend holds your hair while you barf in her toilet after she already told you to stop drinking. A true friend lets you cry about the guy she told you to not talk to and never says I told you so. A friend just lets you be your weird self and gets chuckles from your weirdness without being judgmental or expecting you to be like her. A friend yells at your mechanic for you. A friend brings you gas roadside when you have run out for the hundredth time already. A friend lets you snack in her cupboard. A friend knows what you like and keeps it stocked in her house. A friend is nice to your friends because it is nice to be nice. A friend understands why you haven’t called in two years but reconnects immediately. A friend NEVER makes fun of you, judges you, acts mean to you or ignores you when around “others not like her”.

The answer is that true friends are really are. A "friend" is someone who calls you, does things with you, and generally cares about you.
