John-- member here who's also at the Y

Okay, so when I first came to the Y, I was in the computer room on the computers, and this guy named John woul be overly friendly, saying "Hi, How's Katherine today?" and using an overly, fake-ish cheerful voice. At first I thought he was trying to get me up to his room, but wouldn't he be more discreet and subtle about it? He would talk to me, trying with tortured effort to make conversation while I was busy and he just sat there in the computer room asking me random questions. I was friendly, but when he kept doing it day after day, I got so nervous I told him he gave me the creeps, and he got mad, and I said I was sorry, basically that it was a knee-jerk reaction, and he said "You should be; that was totally rude," and I jsut tried to smooth things over, and things were fine after, he and my mother talked and she found him okay and one of the decent people there, and they were fine, a few times he and I talked and we were fine, but my mother once said when we first came to the Y that he had been in jail, so to be careful around him because I didn't know what he had been in jail for. Months later we're still getting along (usually we just ignored each other in the computer room, minding our own business) and once he said that my shirt was pretty and I was so shy that I jsut said "Oh really?" and couldn't say any more. I felt bad and embarrassed, but there was no point dwelling on it.


Once I noticed that he was on WrongPlanet. After I left without closing WrongPlanet, when I came back he was on it. When I switched to his computer after he left because the one I was on had been slow or something, I noticed that I was logged in as kat(a bunch of letters and numbers, I forget what the username is). He actually has an account on WP! I don't think he ever posted though.


He does seem to have AS. He does a lot of backseat moderating, stands up for justice in the computer room! LOL! He enforces the rules and he's a tenant who does not work here, and probably has never. He enforces the letter of the law, how it was written on the rule paper, not the spririt of it. He got several details of what I was doing wrong. I was innocent of a lot of the things he accused me of (hogging the computer all day, for example-- I don't go on these YMCA computers in the daytime). One of the staff even said after he told me off that he didn't care how long I was on for, because I always let others use it when they were waiting. I told him some people liked to backseat-moderate, and he said that if they wanted to moderate they should come to him. A few times before I had forgotten to look behind me and realized that there were people waiting, sometimes for a while, but I don't do that any more. I always make sure that nobody is waiting if I've been on there for some time. He really perseverates on this; he does have AS!


Do you dare me to ask him to come back to WP?
